Overview

At Elephant, I had the opportunity to work on public-facing features for Apple Newsroom, a press release & news site on Apple.com.

Due to the terms of my NDA, I cannot share further details here. Please contact me if you would like to learn more.

Results

  • I proposed 3 feature enhancements to Elephant's Newsroom team, which in turn were considered during stakeholder reviews with Apple's Marcom Team to boost user engagement on Apple.com.

Context

Exploring enhanced features to keep users updated on all things 

I worked closely with senior designers, project managers, product owners, developers, and creative directors as a part of Elephant's ongoing UX/UI support for Newsroom. Leading initial research, iterating on design explorations, and creating interactive prototypes, I delivered ~25 iterations that explored redesigned content modals and more clarified article page hierarchy.

Learnings

Advocating for design decisions

My time at Elephant has reminded me that design is very much a people profession as it is a technical one. It's very important to consider how you communicate your design decisions in order to win over stakeholders (Why did you design it that way? How will it benefit the business in the long run?).

Let iterations get messy

The design process can get messy — just let it happen! My supervisors reminded me that it's okay to show all of your iterations in your files — and not just perfecting one screen over and over.

Storytelling can make or break your work

At Elephant, I also had the opportunity to lead presentations in internal design meetings. The way you present your work is a very crucial piece of showing your thought process when making design decisions for a product.
